Big Data Consultant
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Responsibilities
- Participate in professional systems analysis projects and work initiatives..
- Review and Analysis of functional requirements for identification of data sources and target systems.
- Develop technical specifications for the development and enhancement of data load processes.
- Development of Hadoop Processes using relevant tools such as Sqoop, Spark, Scala, Kafka, and others.
- Manage data extraction jobs, and build new data pipelines from various sources into Hadoop and validating the code, implementation and deploying in different environments (DEV, SIT, UAT and Production)
- Work on performance tuning activities related to Spark based code.
- Assist with defect determination and resolution, unit and integration testing.
- Assist in end user UAT cycles and production support to business users..
- Ensure standards and best practices used in the code development are followed, documented and maintained..
- Participate to evaluate new frameworks and technologies.
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor Science degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with relevant experince is a must..
- 7 years of experience with 5 years of hands on analytics experience using structured and unstructured data to solve business problems..
- 5 years of experience deploying large analytics initiatives/ programs across industry verticals is a must.
- Strong experience in consultative or large scale analytics project delivery.
- Good understanding and knowledge of statistics, Numerical or analytical methods and big data technologies (Hadoop).
- Minimum 1 year of experience Developing REST web services
- Data Science and Analytics (Machine Learning, Analytical Models, etc.)
- Data Visualization
